There is currently a debate among psychologists and psychiatrists as to whether 'Internet addiction' constitutes a true addiction and should therefore be recognized as a psychiatric disorder in the American Psychiatric Association's fifth edition of the forthcoming Diagnostic and Statistical Manual.
